Jessica Hanna

Meet Jessica Hanna, owner of Stringz N Thingz Design in Commerce Township, Michigan. Jessica started making her unique string art pieces as Christmas gifts in 2017 and the response was so outstanding that the recipients suggested she sell her creations. Stringz N Things Etsy shop opened in 2018.

Like a lot of us, Jessica wears a lot of hats: a mother, wife, and graphic designer. Added entrepreneur to that list is exciting to her. Crafting “has alway been my escape, she explains. “It helps me to relax. . .  I'm getting to be creative and just let myself go.”  Owning Stringz N Things is also what drives her. “I love creating bringing joy to other people with such unique gifts. My goal is to turn this into full-time income so I can have extra time to spend with my boys.”

“My grandma on my mom's side taught me to use a glue gun by the age of five and it's just been non-stop ever since. Mostly for my string art, I use different types of wood and nails. I like to use embroidery thread for my large designs as I can get the nails really close to create details. For my ornament designs I started using crochet yarn since it is a little thicker, it doesn't take as much to complete a design.
