Kathryn Spray

Meet Kathryn Spray, founder of Aging Paws, Inc. in Highland, MI. Aging Paws is not just a business; it's a beacon of hope for senior dogs and their families in our community. "A group of friends from Milford and Highland had long wanted to do something to help care for the pet population in our community," Kathryn shares. "In 2018, that dream became a reality when we incorporated Aging Paws, Inc." Their mission is clear: to provide financial assistance for the medical treatment and care of senior dogs, ensuring they live out their golden years with comfort and dignity.

What sets Aging Paws apart is its preventative approach. "Our focus differs from rescues and shelters in that it is preventative," Kathryn explains. "We want to keep pets with their families and prevent families from ever feeling the need for surrender or premature euthanasia due to the inability to meet medical and care costs associated with aging." Through heartwarming stories like those of Angel and Floki, Aging Paws proves that a little help goes a long way in keeping beloved pets where they belong – with their families, creating cherished memories for years to come.

Receiving messages of gratitude from families like Floki's or a military family whose aging pup received needed treatment brings Kathryn immense joy. "I just cried telling my mom it is such a relief... My son is a Marine and has been so worried she would not be here when he got home," one family shared. These moments of connection and support inspire Kathryn and her team to continue their vital work. You can support Aging Paws too, whether through Kroger Community Rewards, direct donations via Venmo or check, or simply by spreading the word. Together, we can ensure every senior dog receives the care and love they deserve in their twilight years.
