Carrie Coponen

Meet Carrie Coponen, owner of Wild Golden Farm in Highland, Michigan.  After working as a full-time potter, Carrie started her farm in 2022, where she grows food and flowers, as well as preserving food and creating flower art.

“I've been farming for over 10 years, but mostly for other people, so I decided to make a career shift and build my own farm,” explains Carrie. “Most of my experience is growing food, but I fell in love with growing flowers while working at a friend's flower farm.”

Wild Golden Farm has  a contactless roadside stand that Carrie keeps stocked with mixed bouquets and mason jar arrangements. Bouquets, arrangements, or mixed buckets for DIY events can all be ordered on her website (below). You can also find Wild Golden Farm at the Northville Farmers’ Market on most Thursdays. In addition to those options, wholesale is also available through Michigan Flower Barn.

I love being able to set my own schedule, but mostly I enjoy getting to spend my days outside with my plants,” says Carrie. “Farming is incredibly challenging but it's also very rewarding and, most days, I feel like it's the best job in the world.”

Wild Golden Farm has recently added garden consulting services to help people grow successful backyard gardens. Be sure to give her a follow and check out all there is to offer from Wild Golden Farm!
