Julie Hill-Lin
Meet Julie Hill-Lin, owner of Eleven Marketing and co-owner of Lei Ting Blue Pearl Restaurant in Milford, Michigan.
Julie wears two hats on a daily basis. One as owner of Eleven Marketing and Consulting and the other as co-owner of Lei Ting Blue Pearl restaurant in Milford. As a small business owner, Julie takes great pride in helping other small businesses and event planners with their marketing needs in this ever-changing media landscape. Her main focus has been the smaller to mid-sized businesses that can often get overlooked.
“After 30 years in the marketing and advertising industry, I decided it was time to be my own boss,” explains Julie. “I saw on a daily basis on how local businesses owners did not have the time or experience to know how to effectively market their business. With traditional media declining and social platforms taking the lead, it was important for me to share my knowledge to give my clients an upper hand when it came to promoting themselves and to grow their business.”
Additionally, Julie keeps busy trying to create a special dining experience at their recently opened (July 1, 2022) Lei Ting Blue Pearl in downtown Milford. Along with her husband, they have brought their shared love for cooking to life. Fold in her marketing experience, and you will find things like cooking classes, special events and promotional opportunities.
“This concept had been a topic of discussion for years with my husband. We had an opportunity to buy back Lei Ting from To's uncle, and so we jumped at the chance to bring our ideas to life,” says Julie. “We wanted an elevated Asian Fusion dining experience that offered menu items you might not find elsewhere. We also knew we wanted to offer cooking classes, events like Chinese New Year and eventually do wine pairing dinners. We revamped and rebranded and this is what we are today.”
Julie also is a member of the Huron Valley Chamber of Commerce, is an ambassador and currently holds the position of Vice-President of the ambassadors.
Julie is married to Chef Tom Lin and has a 20-year-old son, an 18-year-old daughter and two stepsons, ages 23 and 21. She is also a dog mom to Tucker and Toby.

“I love the flexibility with my schedule,” Julie shares. “I definitely work more hours than I did before, but for the most part, I can do my work from anywhere. I also love working with other business owners who share similar challenges, and passion for their communities.”
