Meet Marlo Bendon, owner of Proud Mitten Shared Kitchen and Proud Mitten Culinary Concepts in Plymouth, Michigan.

At Proud Mitten Shared Kitchen, Marlo believes in renewing and growing the food culture in Southeast Detroit by reducing risk for food-start ups that do not require a full time facility to produce or assemble creations. Proud Mitten Kitchen offers aid in helping businesses grow their product, expand their market and gain access to the Michigan Food Community where other similar businesses share ideas and network.. They are also helping budding culinarians chefs and instructors, inspiring them to run their own culinary arts, educational platforms in their beautiful teaching space, Proud Mitten Culinary Concepts.

“I was inspired to create a business that would mitigate risk for food, entrepreneurs, and dedicated it to my late father,” explains Marlo. “Food has always been a focal point in my family as we have created traditions over the years. I have watched many new food, entrepreneurs struggle with going through the start up process. My kitchen is a platform to help mitigate risk for those starting out, and for those who are growing in the food sector.”

The best part of owning her own business is helping others, and watching others scale and grow. “I love connecting small businesses and partnering with them to help and collaborate with one another” says Marlo.
