Mr. Moody

Meet Penny and Dan of  Mr. Moody, one of Milford’s favorite live acts, who will be performing at the 2022 Women In Milford Gala!  You’ll  hear rock, pop, country,  and party, toe-tapping tunes from the 1960’s through today.

Penny and Dan Shanahan have both been involved in music and bands since their high school and college days.  They met in 1997 when Dan’s band posted an ad for a singer.  Penny answered the ad and nailed the audition.  Their first show together was at Illusions Bar and Grill in Royal Oak, Michigan, in 1998, and their excitement for playing live only grew from there.

“Our original band name was Cloud Nine from 1998-2000.   When  we released our CD in 2000, we  had to change the band name, since there were so many other Cloud Nine bands in the world,” Penny explains about the band’s unique name.  “We're named after the title of  one of Shel Silverstein's poems, "Mr. Moody."  

Dan, veteran guitar player of 43 years, and Penny, a veteran singer of 40 years, have performed in various venues in Milford: Milford Memories, Concerts in the Park, Milford Farmers’ Market, Bakers, Main Street Grill, Red Dog, and the old Hector & Jimmies and Milford House.  They are truly a Milford staple when it comes to live music!

“We are thrilled to be a part of the 2022 Gala and are looking forward to an incredible night filled with dancing, smiles, and good vibes,” says Penny.
