Sara Hussin

Meet Sara Hussin, Nurse Anesthetist at Beaumont Dearborn and CRNA injector at her concierge aesthetic business Awaken Aesthetics.

After 12 years in Anesthesia, Sara decided to take her training in anesthesia and anatomy to aesthetics.  “I was looking for a change that still incorporated my skill set while allowing me more flexibility in my schedule. . .I love helping people to look and feel their best.  We trained with one of the best in the country and continue to train and attend conferences in both aesthetics and anesthesia,” explained Sara.  “I consider it an art to administer both anesthesia and aesthetics, it is not just something anyone can do or be good at.”

Awaken Aesthetics has a wide range of mobile services, covering all of Metro Detroit.  “As long as there are 6 or more people for an event or home party we will go as far as an hour away,” adds Sara.  “We offer mobile or concierge aesthetics (I have 3 partners who are also Nurse anesthetists) where we come to your home or business as well as have spaces at Tress Salon in Walled Lake and Salon Optimism in Rochester. We offer Botox, fillers, chemical peels, Microneedling with PRP (platelet rich plasma), hair PRP, Ultherapy (the nonsurgical facelift) and soon IV therapy!”

The days that she works at the hospital start early; and are often 24 hr. shifts.  However, working for herself at Awaken Aesthetics lets Sara enjoy dropping her kids off at school and picking them up.  “Making my own aesthetics schedule allows for me to be available for more school functions during the day, Dr appts, lunch dates and time for myself.  I love it because it doesn't need to be a solid 8+ hours of work like the hospital, It can be split up.”

On the rare occasion she has time to spare, Sara practices yoga at In Harmony Yoga & Wellness, attends book club meetings with a few other members of Women In Milford, travels with her husband and two children, Mason and Olivia, and spends time outside and on the lake.

When asked if she had any advice to anyone thinking about changing careers after a long stretch of time, Sara happily answered “Do it!  You are never too old to make a change, I believe continuously growing and changing is so important to leading a happy, healthy life.  You can do anything you put your mind to and I try to live my life like that as an example for others especially my children.  It’s not always going to be easy but it is so worth it to reach for your goals instead of always wondering ‘What If?’”
