Join us on International Women's Day, March 8, at River's Edge Brewery for an exciting and educational experience. Everyone is invited to join us in celebration and education!

This event is FREE! Lunch options will be provided & taps will be open if anyone is interested in purchasing beer.

** Feel free to work remotely from River's Edge , enjoy a beer, connect and network, and participate in whatever parts you can!

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S BREW:

This is a big event and we couldn't be more excited about each and every aspect of such an amazing International Women's Day!

We will be working with Nicole Fitzmaurice, Brewer at River's Edge Brewing Co., who will lead us in the process of brewing their newest beer. This day-long process will be educational and we'll be getting our hands a little dirty, so be sure to wear closed-toe shoes and something comfortable if you'd like to be a part of the work! Come when you can, stay as long as you like. Feel free to work remotely from River's Edge , enjoy a beer, connect and network, and participate in whatever parts you can!

We are collecting items for Anchored Hope Outreach, a nonprofit outreach that is working to fight human trafficking by serving the needs of sex trafficked victims. You can find them “boots on the ground” in the neighborhoods of southwest Detroit passing out food and hygiene kits, spending time in prayer, and connecting those in need with resources to heal and restore.

Please bring your donations to the Brewery on the day of the event at any time.

Women in Milford flowed in and out of River’s Edge Brewing Co. all day yesterday to learn and be a part of the brewing process and put together donation care packages for Anchored Hope Outreach. The turn-out was incredible!

Nicole Fitzmaurice, brewer at River’s Edge led us in the brewing of a new beer made with Loral Hops, lavender, jasmine, and rose petals. We brewed, boiled, steeped, and even named the new beer at River’s Edge Brewing Co.! We can’t wait to taste the fruits of our labor at our April Meetup!

During the entire brewing process, we collected donations and filled backpacks to make hygiene kits for Anchored Hope Outreach, a nonprofit fighting to help stop human trafficking.

“The reality of human trafficking is that it is not a far-away problem. It is right here. In our schools, our neighborhoods, our cities and our state. At Anchored Hope Outreach, we have been called to take action. . . Our Street Outreach Team of 3 - 4 people takes to the neighborhoods of southwest Detroit twice a week, both day and night. We travel the same route every week, oftentimes ministering to the same friends, and always meeting new ones.”

Yesterday was also the International Women’s Collaboration Brew Day, which is celebrated globally by beer industry women & home brewers! “It is an event open to all women working in or interested in beer to learn, network, and make friends—so join in, collaborate, enjoy brewing, enjoy the produce and try and get as many women involved as possible!”
